Escape to The Falls Resort in New Ulm

NEW ULM, Texas -- For nearly 30 years, The Falls Resort has represented a great weekend getaway for Houston golfers as well as players from other Texas cities like San Antonio and Austin.

Located less than two hours from downtown Houston, this Jay Riviere/Dave Marr design is an escape into the country, with the sounds of deer rustling, birds chirping and the wind whisking throughout the trees that border the fairways and frame the greens on this 6,765-yard championship layout.

What sets The Falls apart is its undulation on the greens and in the fairways. There are very few straight holes. The best skill to have when playing The Falls is course management.

The greens are also a major defense. Get on the wrong side of the hole and a three-putt is almost assured.

The Falls Resort & Club is located 90 minutes west of Houston in some impressive golf terrain. Dense forests, clear-water lakes, and waterfalls combine to make this place a special golf experience. Designers Jay Riviere and Dave Marr took advantage of the natural terrain to build a spectacular golf course.
