If you're flying into Houston or the surrounding "Golden Buckle,"
Houston has a system of three airports throughout the area. Its
largest is George Bush Intercontinental Airport is located 23
miles north of downtown Houston, near the Sam Houston Tollway.
Bush Intercontinental serves most of Houston's incoming and departing
passenger flights. The Houston headquartered Continental Airlines
hub has over 500 flights per day. It also has hundreds of daily
flights from 23 different airlines. It services around 35 million
passengers every year and is the ninth busiest airport in the
country.
If you are driving to Houston, you'll likely end up on either
I-45 or I-10. If you are coming from the east or west, I-10 runs
from Los Angeles to Jacksonville, FL and goes through Houston.
If you are driving south to Texas, I-45 will take you through
Dallas/Fort Worth and into Houston.
