Scenic Briarcrest, designed by Marvin Ferguson, features tight fairways lined by old oak trees, at least six water hazards that come into play, and small greens. Ferguson’s layout requires accuracy off the tee, especially for the long par 3s

Watch out for the approach on No. 8, which is long and must carry a lake that looms left of the green and cuts into the fairway at the 150-yard marker.
The two holes that cause debate over which is most difficult are Nos. 11 and 15. The 11th has it all, playing 430 yards uphill into a dogleg right and elevated green, along with a creek on the right side of the fairway. The 15th is probably a little meaner, an almost 600-yard double dogleg protected by bunkers and lakes.
