Home of the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College, now known
as Texas A&M University, these twin cities have grown together.
The surrounding Brazos River bottoms sustain the diversified agricultural
industry, and every other business pretty much revolves around the
university. The Aggies will tell you that there isn’t much
to do here, so they drive to Austin for a little culture. What they
fail to mention is the impressive number of golf courses available
for a piddly little college town. No less than six courses dot the
landscape of Aggieland, with their pride and joy soon to open: the
Traditions Golf Course and Country Club at University Ranch.

NOTES
If there's a game in town, you could stand in a crowd of 80,000 plus and chant and sway for four hours. Some Aggies say they head to Austin for the weekend, but there’s a few joints worth investigation. One of them is Los Nortenos Cafe (979-779-7337) in Bryan, the mint-green cafe that serves great tacos and cold beer. In College Station you'll be drawn to the Messina Hof Wine Cellars, where you can drink Texas wine, picnic, and fish on their private lake.
