As Austin’s growth creeps up I-35 and sucks in Pflugerville, Round Rock, and Georgetown, small communities like Hutto, just 7 miles east of Round Rock, are inevitably drawn into the urbanization. That means big dollars, traffic, sophisticated housing communities, and superb golf courses. Now the former railroad and cotton town, originally settled by German, Swedish, and Danish immigrants, is the site of the Timmerman Ranch development and The Golf Club at Star Ranch.
