Fun course, has a great layout!
I don't live in the area but come to visit my son every month or so and while we have played the other courses in town, they are always so backed up the pace of play is too slow for my liking. On a recommendation from his coworker we decided to try out this course and was I glad we did! Being in Texas I expected the fairways to be rough, and they were a little dry, but the greens are in such excellent shape they are easily the best I've seen in the Waco area. The staff was extremely friendly and after we were done she even re-gripped my clubs while we watch the masters and had a few beers. We had a fun time enjoying the challenges this course has to offer and we will be back here next time I'm in town!
Nice friendly staff. Fairway needs attention. The greens are good.
Course lay out is good and fun to play. Fairway needs a lot of attention. There are a lot of potential on this course. With a better care this course will be a gem in the rough.
greens are gppd
With lack of rain water is used generously on the greens. The fairways suffer from short water but the green are great as they are watered day and night. The staff has done a lot of work on this old coarse. Before the shortage of water the coarse was coming along great but water has slowed the process. The fairways are dry with grass but all brown. Tee shot get a lot of roll due to the dry conditions. Overall the coarse was fun to play and will play it again. The green fees are within reason for the type of coarse it is. Had a fun day, Played in less than 3 hours as little traffic on the day we played.
no grass on the fairways
very long drives without any grass on the fairways
Not a bad round
This course was pretty easy, and for the very cheap deal I got on golf now, you just can't beat it. That being said, the fairways and cart path need much attention. There were only a couple fairways with green grass. The greens, however were in great shape.
Cheap, not the best condition, fast play
The course itself is a fairly typical Texas course in summer: brown sparse grass on most fairways, tall wispy rough, a smattering of trees. The greens are slow but green. The course is usually fairly deserted and therefore facilitates fast play; I was done in under 2.5 hours playing by myself and I played 2 balls on the majority of holes. The price is very economical purchased through GolfNow, especially the hot tee times. The staff is friendly. Difficulty-wise, it's not the most challenging of courses; several par-5s under 500 yards means with the hard-baked earth reaching the green in two is not unfeasible. If you want a high-quality look elsewhere, but if you just want to play golf, this is a good option.
Cheap golf, fun layout, play fast
It's not the nicest course but if you want to play fun, cheap golf go here!
Great for the price!
This is a fun course to play! Its never too crowded. The fairways are a little hard and need water, but it does allow for your drives to go a little further. The greats thing about this course are: the greens and surrounding areas are in great chape. They putt very smoothly. They have electric golf carts. Ours ran fast the entire time. I really had a good time playing at this Municipal course. If you enjoy playing golf and aren't a golf snob, this is a great great place to play for the money! I will keep coming back to this place, as all the other "nicer" courses are starting to jack their prices up for the Spring....
