The original HCC facility is now known as the Tony Butler Municipal Golf Course, a course that dates back to a 1920s John Bredemus design. Members hired Leon Howard and Dave Bennett in the 1960s to give new life to Harlingen CC by laying out this water-infested track, with a subsequent update in 1985 by Dick Nugent.

Harlingen's long-time favorite course, named after local golf pro legend Tony Butler, dates back to 1929 when John Bredemus built what was then known as the Harlingen Country Club. In those days Harlingen was just a sleepy little village, void of winter Texans, and the Rio Grande Valley Open was a stop on the pro tour, hosting the likes of Walter Hagen.

Treasure Hills GC is one of the better layouts in the Rio Grande Valley. Built on rolling terrain, the wide fairways present nice targets off the tee, and the elevated greens require taking an extra club every now and then.
