Located 11 miles north of McKinney in the sticks just east of I-75, Anna is a former railroad town that has subsisted since the late 1873, when it had a population of 20. Sometimes lost in the shuffle of the numerous courses around booming McKinney is the 18-hole Hurricane Creek CC.

Don’t miss the club’s outstanding bar and grill, which serves delicious burgers. Up the road in Van Alstyne, TX La Colina (555-555-5555) draws a big crowd for its fajitas and is the best place for Tex-Mex. Otherwise, make the drive back into McKinney for more robust entertainment options.
