Bridgeport
Elevation : 754
Population : 4,362
The old town of Bridgeport is near Decatur, northwest of Fort Worth,
and the gateway to Lake Bridgeport. Once a coal miner’s town
after the railroad came through, tourism is popular because of the
beautiful Runaway Bay resort, which also boasts an 18-hole Leon
Howard design that complements Bridgeport’s 9-hole country
club.
Bridgeport Golf Courses :
- Bridgeport Country Club
- Runaway Bay Golf Club
Notes
For restless-man’s side trips, take FM 1156 as it
turns toward Wizard Wells, an old health spa built
around mineral wells once popular with the Kiowa Indians. In town,
make your reservations at the Greystone Inn (555-555-5555),
and enjoy every moment at the Stevens Street Grill
(555-555-5555) by the First National Bank. Dos Chiles
(555-555-5555) has been known to serve outstanding Mexican grub.
Travelers tip: bring your own booze, because Bridgeport doesn’t
have any (at least none that we’ve found yet). |
