Back when they called it North Texas State University, coach Fred Cobb assembled some of the greatest golf teams of all times, winning four consecutive NCAA titles from 1949 to 1952. Eagle Point, now associated with the Radisson Hotel, was the home course for those teams, but has since been improved with more water and bunker hazards, as well as enlarged Tifdwarf greens.
The fairways are firm and wide open here, and there are several short par 4s that can be reached with solid drives. One of the toughest holes is the 235-yard, par 3 No. 2, which is one difficult par when playing into the wind.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take the University of North Texas exit, and the course is next to the University.
