Desoto, located 12 miles south of Dallas just off I-35, is a community of commuters with an estimated 90% of the population earning the living in Dallas and Grand Prairie. Ten Mile Creek runs through town, and the city limits are bordered by Cedar Hill to the west, Lancaster to the east, Duncanville and Dallas to the north, and the lesser known-Glenn Heights to the south. You’ll be here for golf if you’re invited to play at the mighty-fine Thorntree Country Club, which has hosted the first round of the PGA’s Tour School as well as multiple Byron Nelson qualifiers over the years.

Ojeda’s (555-555-5555) serves great Mexican food, and Desoto could be considered chain restaurant heaven, with every possible type of food available. Take your pick, or do what we’d do and head back to Dallas or out in the sticks for true backwoods adventures.
