Designed by John Bredemus protégé Ralph Plummer, whose laid-back, traditional style is evident on many Texas courses, Eastern Hills is an unusually hilly track for North Texas, providing lots of interesting lies that require some unique shot-making. Water hazards come into play on 6 or 7 holes, and the greens are extremely fast.
The back nine features two of the better holes–the 545-yard No. 14, which initially plays uphill off the tee before dropping down into a valley on the left, and the monster 219-yard No. 10, which might require a 3 wood into the wind and features a bunker-happy green with a creek on the right side.
Getting there : From I-30 east, turn left on Beltline and drive to Centerville Rd. Turn right and head to Country Club Rd. Turn right again and look for the entrance on the left.
