Glen Rose
Elevation : 680
Population : 2,122
Glen Rose is a charming little town located on US 67 between Cleburne
and Stephenville. The town began as a trading post in 1849, an ideal
spot because of its picturesque location at the confluence of the
Brazos and Paluxy Rivers. Golfers know Glen Rose for its excellent
Squaw Valley facility, which now boasts two 18-hole golf courses
that are considered to be the best in the area. A great weekend
road trip destination, Glen Rose offers B&B accommodations in
its historic buildings and a vibrant downtown area, as well as the
intriguing Dinosaur Valley State Park

Notes
For food, the options are impressive. Donna Kay’s
(555-555-5555) is a catfish joint, Ranchhouse BBQ
(555-555-5555) is popular, and the MK Corral (555-555-5555)
is the place for steaks, while the Lewis and Clark Cafe
and Trading Co. (254-898-2193) serves up quail filled with
shrimp and wrapped in bacon (BYOB). There’s lots of B&Bs
in Glen Rose, including the White Gables Inn (254-897-2149)
and the Country Woods Inn (817-279-3002). But the
best option is outside of town on CR 2013 at the Rough Creek
Lodge (254-918-2550). With their 40-foot limestone fireplace,
spa, views of the lake, and an outstanding restaurant, this is the
place to make a weekend of it.
