Richardson spans Dallas and Collin counties, bulging from Dallas’ growth and fueled by the high-tech industry. Originally called Breckenridge, this once-rural village got its start from the railroad and is now home to one country club and a 36-hole municipal facility.

Consider the option of enjoying one of the great pleasures of muni golf–the post-round lunch with beers in the clubhouse grill. Otherwise we recommend two non-chain BBQ joints for lunch, both with names that smell of good barbecue. Big Al’s Bar-B-Que (972-699-1521) is on Arapaho, and Smokin’ Tom’s Texas Bar-B-Que (972-231-7633) is on Campbell.
