Van Zandt Country Club

The golf : Built by Leon Howard in the 1960s, this course is typical of his design approach: a fun, basic course that’s not too difficult. The course is open to the public and the best time to play is during the week, when you’ll often find that you’re one of the only golfers on the course. A fairly open course, the fairways and bent-grass greens are always in excellent condition and the staff is unbelievably friendly.
