Carthage Country Club is a scenic little 9-hole country course that’s open to the public. While most of the holes typify basic, small-town golf (par 4s well under 400 yards, a very short par 3), there are two holes that can stand up to the most accomplished golfer. The number one handicap is hole 3, a long, 554-yard par 5. And you’ll need a fairway wood on hole 5, a 213-yard par 3.

Two sets of tees make for an 18-hole round. Pay once and play all day.

Getting there : From I-20 driving east, take Hwy 59 south to Carthage. Find Hwy 79 and drive east for 2 miles to the course.

I will have to say this course has come a LONG ways over the past few years. The greens are in excellent shape and the atmosphere is awesome. Love to play this course with a good foursome.

Very disappointed with the golf edicut at this location. The course itself is a nice layout. The greens are not ready for putting, they look like they are new construction greens or they lost them due to heat. There are patches of repair on alot of them. My final complaint is the price of the green fees, I played feb 23 and i was charged $ 55.00, I also played feb 25, and i was charged $42.00. This price is to much for a 9 hole course that's is in that type of condition. I asked an individual in the pro shop, why so pricy? They responded, because we have new golf carts. To me, that is not the publics fault. A fair price would be no more than $ 40.00, including cart. I will not be playing Carthage Country Club again.
