The folks behind the making of Shadow Lakes may have started a trend, since others are sure to try and duplicate the outstanding experience of playing a premier par-3 golf course. In immaculate condition, surrounded by majestic pines and laid out with extreme elevation changes, Shadow Lakes is far from the typical par-3 pitch-and-putt.
There aren’t many easy holes at Shadow Lakes. The 4th hole, lined by huge pine trees on the right, plays 165 yards from an elevated tee with water fronting the green. Hole 9 will make you want to play again: a 104-yard shot into an island green with the only bail-out being two bunkers that guard the front of the green.
The course is lighted, allowing golfers to tee off as late as 11 PM!
Getting there : Take exit 162 off I-30.
