River/Ridge at River Ridge Golf Club

Sealy's golf course opened in 1998 with an open, Jay Riviere-designed 27 holes that utilize the unique terrain along the Brazos River. Rolling hills, plentiful pecan trees, immaculate greens, and impressive elevation changes greet golfers, and each 9-hole tract spreads out over more than 120 acres, creating a natural setting that's perfect for golf.

No. 2 on the River Course is one of the better holes-a par 4 that bends left and involves water off the tee and on the approach. The smart play is to aim at the bunkers towards the right side of the fairway and avoid Lake Victoria on the left. Par-able because it's not a long hole, it's a definite confidence booster to negotiate the water and reach the green in regulation.

Getting there : On I-10 driving west, take Exit 725 and turn right. Circle under the bridge, proceed to Chew St., and turn right. The course is .5 mile on the right.
