Alvin's1950s-style country club is built along the edge of Mustang Bayou. It features a short, flat track with wide-open fairways that you can play all day for one fee. The clubhouse, a former army barracks, was updated in the early 1990s, and the course was improved to bring it up to par with surrounding facilities.
Holes 5 and 6 stand out in the middle of the round. No. 5 is a par 4 that plays 425 yards, so average hacks will be faced with a long approach into the green. No. 6 is also tough because of the approach, since the green on No. 6 is fronted by two bunkers.
Getting there : From Hwy. 6 south, find County Rd. 146 and go north. Drive 2 blocks to County Rd. 539 and turn right. The road will dead-end at the course.
