Like most of the courses down this way, the sea-level elevation creates terrain that is loaded with water. Evergreen is no exception-several lakes and streams meander through this tree-lined course, creating water hazards on 15 holes.
This well-manicured design also features large, bunkered greens that are surrounded by magnolias, pines, and dogwoods.
The best hole is No. 3, a long, 462-yard par 4 that requires a long approach through tall magnolias into an elevated green.
Getting there : From the Houston Inter-Continental Airport, take Beltway 8 south to Beltway 225 east. Take Beltway 146 over the bridge (stay in right lane). Next take the Business 146 exit. Drive 2.5 miles and turn right on Spur 55. Take the first right and this will lead to the course.
