Little-known Milt Coggins was hired in the early 1960s to design 9 holes for one of the nation's first master-planned communities. Then Jay Riviere came along for his first solo project to add the second nine in 1967. Back then there were no trees-the ones that were planted on the open prairie have finally matured, providing some character to this flat course. Out-of-bounds is prominent because of the houses, and water comes into play on a few holes. However, the most difficult aspect of a round at Clear Lake is in dealing with the small, mound-shaped greens.
Getting there : From I-45 south, get off at the El Dorado St. exit and turn right on El Camino Rd. When you come to Reseda Rd., turn left and look for the clubhouse on the right side.
