Editor's Note: Course Closed For Business.
The Navasota muni is a1950s-style traditional layout that is the place to play for a career low round. The track is flat, with some occasional mounding and non-menacing grass bunkers that line the fairways and cover some greens. Three holes are doglegs, creating some interesting opportunities to get aggressive on this very short course.
The round starts off with two par 4s under 300 yards, followed by a 426-yard par 5 that is sandwiched between two gimme par 3s. The toughest holes are back to back: the "long" 178-yard No. 7 followed by the most realistic par 4 No. 8, which goes 387 yards.
Getting there : From Houston, take Hwy. 290 north to Hwy. 6. Turn north again, and travel 25 miles to Anderson Rd. Turn right again and find Washington St. (Hwy. 105). This road will take you to the course, which is on the left side of the road.
