This links-style country club course was designed by Bill Coore in 1986. The layout features Oso Creek, manmade lakes, and many bunkers, along with mounding in the fairways and around the greens. Many holes involve doglegs with bunkers and mounds protecting the corners. With no trees and the Gulf nearby, wind is always a major factor.
The signature hole is the 393-yard par 4 No. 14, with water along the left side of the fairway. The back nine starts out with a challenging 633-yard par 5 with water on either side of the fairway. The finishing hole is also tough-a long par 4 with a tee shot over the water into a fairway that slopes toward the lake.
Getting there : Driving south on Padre Island Drive, turn right on Staples, then proceed another 4 miles to Oso Pkwy.
