Until the new Los Lagos club opened recently, Monte Cristo, previously known as Palacio, was the only 18-hole course in Edinburg. The name of the game here is dealing with the wind, which seems to always blow from the Gulf and makes the course much more difficult.
Getting there : Exit Monte Cristo off 281 south, then turn left and drive 2.5 miles to the course.

- Nice wide fairways, grass is in fairly good condition and greens were well trimmed and fast. Just enough hazards to make it fun and challenging. The club house is well equipped and staff is friendly. I enjoyed my 2 first games there.Played yesterday, really enjoyed the course. Course was in excellent shape. Greens were well manicured and fast. No wind so not a problem.
Will return to play the course with my wife. I have played four different courses in the area in Monti Cristo is by far the best.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. Only negative point is I wish they had more golf attire to purchase.
