- A word to anyone that is not a local, the blue course was closed a few years ago when management went to the Victoria Parks Department. Since VPD has taken over management the course has been transformed and is in great shape. Because the course is located on the banks of the Guadalupe River, all greens are elevated (to keep them safer in time of flooding) and are not the types that are easy to just roll a shot from the fairway onto the green. The greens are in very good shape, the fairways are mostly straight, but bordered by mature trees so that errant drives can become a real challenge. Of the three golf courses in Victoria this is the only one open to the public. It may not be the most challenging of the three, but in my view is the prettiest.
