Bronte Longhorn (formerly known as Singing Winds) is a 9-hole public course set in the rolling terrain on the edge of West Texas. This is a short course with tree-lined fairways, no bunkers, and small greens. The signature hole is No. 6, a 185-yard par 3 over water.

If you catch this track during dry conditions, the fairways might be brown, but it's grass that is good enough to give you a good lie. Use your irons and keep it in the fairway, because the rough is hard-panned dirt and rocks.

Getting there : Located on Hwy. 277 halfway between Abilene and San Angelo. Look for the signs to the course.

Might be the worst course conditions in the state. Most holes have zero blades of grass in the fairway. Greens and tee boxes are as bad as I have ever seen.

This course is in very good shape considering the extreme heat we are experiencing. The greens were especially well kept, the carts ran well, just overall a nice little course easily worth the drive from San Angelo to play
