This short, 9-hole, public course is named after Mountain Creek, which runs through the layout and impacts three holes. Set in the scenic hills of central Coke County, there are a few hills on this track, and a total of five water hazards. The fairways are mostly flat and offer generous landing areas. A low score is a definite possibility. Start off with a birdie on No. 1, a 287 yard par 4, then use your confidence to go low because every par 4 is under 400 yards, and both par 5s are under 500 yards. The number 1 handicap is the par 5 NO. 7, which plays 482 yards. Pay once and play all day. There are two sets of tees for a different look the second time around.

For a West Texas small town, they have a real good course. No water to speak of but the fairways and greens are in fair shape

Getting there : Located in county park, 1 mile west of Hwys 208 and 158.

This is one of the best maintained small town golf courses I've ever played. The gentlemen that run the course have great pride in their product, and it shows.
The price was great, and had I had enough sunlight, I could have paid once and played all day.
There were small spots on some of the greens, but not enough to be upset at.
Overall, a hidden jewel in west Texas.
