The game of golf came to Wimberley in the 1970s but never really achieved a true identity due to shuffling ownership and poor maintenance. However, in May 2001 the Quicksand Golf Corporation, fresh from their successful Quicksand Golf Course in San Angelo, bought the existing property and began to make changes.
