About

Willow Springs Golf Course in Haslet, Texas is famous for having two sets of greens for each hole, used to maintain the best possible conditions depending on the season -- one for the winter, and one for the summer. This track plays just over 6,100 yards and offers a full 18 holes to the golfing public. The opening hole is the most difficult -- it's the only 400-yard-plus par 4 on the course. Nothing wrong with a bogey on this first hole, since it plays 446 yards. Willow Springs' back nine features two very birdie-able par 3s, as well as a 436-yard par 5 and a 280-yard par 4 that play back-to-back.

Average at best
Friendly people working there. We followed a small tournament and the group in front of us was a Six-some. Took 5-1/2 hours to play 18 holes. Course is mostly hardpan. Greens were ok to putt on but some greens were water soaked so chips would splat when landing. Occasional mud hole in front of greens. Course has a very easy short layout. Good for beginners but don't go there if you are in a hurry on the weekend.
Tale of Two Courses
Typical Texas plains golf course, with lots of local guys enjoying the course. The holes near the clubhouse, 1,2,3, 9th on front. 10, 11, 18 on back are flat, dry fairways and brown grass. But the remaining holes that run through the back of the course look like a DIFFERENT course; more lush, water hazards, greener conditions-funny. Didn't expect greens to be any good given practice green, but was fooled-rolled very nice! Lots of high handicappers and kids on course as it was mid PM on a Friday...Given cost-good value.
Rough
The greens are decent. The entire course is like playing from the rough. No clue where fairways and rough met. Course is more for the beginner player.
it has some risk reward holes ,u need to be able to move the ball from right to left and vice versa
willow springs is always a nice to play the greens could be a little better but it is always kept in good shape ,even the rough .it is always worth the 30 minute drive
Great for the money
I love this course. I'm a weekend golfer, I shoot in the 90's. I don't like paying more than $50 on a round of golf unless it's for an occasion. This course is AWESOME for the money. $38 Sunday morning tee time can't be beaten. The course has some "patchy" spots, but nothing crazy that I don't see really anywhere else. The greens aren't bad - there's one spot on 17 that's bad, but that was it. The layout is quirky, has some holes you can score on, then some others where you really need to map out your plan before teeing off. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Think the course is aimed at locals
We are trying out courses around our area and found this on GolfNow. Was able to get on course with same day booking. Waited about 10 minutes to get service to pay green fees, even though one assistant had seen us at the pro shop within first 60 seconds. The markings to direct you to the next hole are lacking, as well as information on what holes you need to keep the carts on the path. Also the course allowed 5 players in a group which led to slow play on the round, especially when these players spent 5 or more minutes looking for lost balls on several holes. The positive was the greens where in good condition. Very flat course.
Stay away
Goat track!! Hackers everywhere, multiple people playing out of same bag. People wearing jeans and boots to play. No difference between fairway and rough (some greens as well) pace of play was ridiculous, sometimes 4 groups on one hole. Marshal did nothing.
Willow Spring
The course is good for people who enjoy the game and having some success. It is wide open for the most part but in good shape. The greens are a bit slower than some course but in good shape. Staff is exceptional. Have a great time every time I play.
Terrible
Greens were just ok. Fairways and tee boxes loaded with weeds. Cart path on back nine was just a rock filled mess with lots of pot holes.
Windy, Pace-Behind a League
This course could use some updating. If you have played more than 4 rounds of golf in your life, try another course. No elevated greens or tees. Would be a great course for a beginner on a week day. I played on a Sunday afternoon, behind a league and played the longest round of my life. FIVE hours and 20 minutes.
The course would be a nice track if a little money was put into it. The course looks the same as it did 25 years ago.
Rude Marshall
Marshall was RUDE, lurked and followed around directly behind us, hassled us, and patronized us..."I think its time to go, you've had enough".....at 6:45 pm.
Met up and played golf with my grown daughter for first time in years....called course ahead of time to make sure not to late (5 PM tee time).. sure, play till 7 they said. Figured 9 holes easy. Big deal to spend time with my daughter who drove over from PLANO....
WOW...what an inconsiderate lout.
The course is designed well
Course is designed and laid out nicely with sone nice greens and fair ways
NEEDS WORK
Terribly maintained. Appears to be headed for other purposes and not golfing. Apparent excavations all over. It does have a fair practice area.
Was a swamp
They didn't let me know it just rained water all down fairways mud and water all on cart paths got more mud on me from cart paths not paved I quit on the 12th hole I don't know why I lasted that long don't recommend this course
Bang for your buck
If you're looking for a course to work on new aspects of your game or just a leisure round this is a good course. Don't expect Iron Horse or Fossil Creek conditions for this price point. Staff up front is very friendly. The course isn't the best but for hot deals at the 10 dollar price point who can be picky?
