About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Willow Springs Golf Course in Haslet, Texas is famous for having two sets of greens for each hole, used to maintain the best possible conditions depending on the season -- one for the winter, and one for the summer. This track plays just over 6,100 yards and offers a full 18 holes to the golfing public. The opening hole is the most difficult -- it's the only 400-yard-plus par 4 on the course. Nothing wrong with a bogey on this first hole, since it plays 446 yards. Willow Springs' back nine features two very birdie-able par 3s, as well as a 436-yard par 5 and a 280-yard par 4 that play back-to-back.

Not Bad
Been playing this course on and off since 1970 and it has improved dramatically since then. The yardage and slope above is from the tips, the mid tees is about 112 making it relatively flat but that's ok. Its a good course to work on your game to get ready for a more difficult course. The cart paths will knock your cavities loose, its kind of like going 4 wheeling. A lot of water in the fairways. Wish they had a cart storage area as I would like to buy my own cart but don't want to hall it out there all the time. Russ is a great guy that works there, friendly and will help you out with your game.
Rude starter
My dad was in town visiting and we decided to play in the afternoon. They called our names and we went to the tee box early and he came charging out yelling at us saying it wasn't our turn and we need to not shake our heads and relax.... Little did he know we weren't even talking about teeing off! Dude was on a power trip! Water puddles everywhere on course and cart paths are brutal. Greens are hard but play fair. Would not recommend do to rude staff.

Good course
Definitely not the nicest of courses out there, but the greens and the fairways are well maintained.
Thank you for playing at Willow Springs Golf Course. It's grat to hear that you enjoyed the conditions at the course! We hope to see you again soon.
Course In Distress
We play courses all over the metroplex and Willow Springs is clearly in the poorest condition of any other than comes to mind.
It's a shame because the layout is good but the maintenance is below average. I don't know if it a tight budget that causes the poor course maintenance or just a grounds crew with little experience. Regardless, save your money and play elsewhere until course maintenance is addressed.
Bruce, could you be more specific about what you are referring to? Please email me directly at dacus@wsgolf.com.
Thank You

Pouring rain means your playing here
Corse was soaked we expected rain just not that much after waiting an hour and a half they wouldn't give us a rain check so we tried to play. Made it about three holes and quit. Hard to hit out of puddles
I have talked with both of the proshop attendants that were on duty that day and both state they gave everyone a raincheck that asked for one. I would like to help you with this matter. Can you give me the name and tee time for when your round was booked so I can look into it? You can email me at dacus@wsgolf.com if you like.
Thank you for your review. We apologize about the conditions of the course and not meeting your expectations. If you'd like to further discuss this, please contact us at WillowSpringsGolfCourse@Gmail.com. We hope to hear from you.
Nice but not as nice as the champions
A little burned in the Texas sun but that is to be expected. Greens and Rees were just fine
We'd like to thank you for playing at Willow Springs Golf Course. It has been extremely hot here and we thank you for your understanding. We hope you decide to visit us again soon!
Good Value
We showed up a little early for out tee time. Al5he staff aalowed us to jump in anfld get started early. Fairways were ok.... rough was dirt and cracked. Greens were bumpy and fast (a bit dry?) The cart paths need some serious attention. Weird how dry the course was but there were mud puddles in the cart paths.
Hi Rajoconnor,
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you had a good experience with the staff. We have had a lot of heat the past few days and it has affected the greens. We truly hope you decide to give us another chance at meeting your expectations.
Willow Springs has gone downhill
I enjoy playing out at willow springs because it's one I've played many times. The course was recently for sale but decided against it and to keep it up and running. The course has gone down hill. Hardly any green grass on the fairways, greens are cut too short and full of sand. You hit a chip shot to the green and sand bounces up with your ball... It seems like it was cheaper before they decided to try and sell and now it's seems to be more expensive. Maybe it's the same price just the quality has gone down so it makes it seem worse. Anyways, the price is decent if you catch it at the right times. Also, around the greens, it's cut pretty thick.. All in all not too bad but seems like the efforts aren't being put towards the course.
We'd like to thank you for playing at Willow Springs Golf Course numerous times. We apologize about the greens and fairways. We recently aerified and the course had still yet to completely heal. We hope you decide to visit us again soon.
Quick and easy
A lot of holes (big dips) in fairways and some fairways are not mowed. Hard to find balls landing in the fairways grass is so deep. Cart path in many areas is like driving over a battle ground.
Hi Thomas,
Thank you for your review. We apologize for the conditions of the greens, as we had switched play from our summer greens to our winter greens during aerification. We hope that you will give us another chance in the near future.
Unmet expectations.
The golf course is very wide open, and fairly easy to navigate. However, the greens left a lot to be desired. They were very worn and there was no way to accurately read a putt. The driving range was under going some reconditioning, and could not be used early in the day. I would give it 3 stars for the ease of play, but only 1 star for the greens.
Hi Coach,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback. We hope that you will give us another chance in the near future.
Fun and Easy Course
Super Easy course to learn or try out a new swing. Lots of open fairways and not heavily wooded with trees. If you miss the fairway your still in decent shape. Greens are a little long and scruffy but hey its summer and it's texas. I don't particularly care to putt on ice skating rink greens. Simple and fun all in all. Not too much water or hazards for the beginner all the way to a pro.
Willow Springs 27 June 2015
Good course, staff was very friendly, they offer a military discount but did not qualify because I booked the round on Golf Now.com. (a staff member came up to me and told me about the Military discount after my round, He said they take care of there Military, Greatly appreciated)
Overall the course is in great shape, greens are very firm. Driving range is very good, range ball are in great shape.
Nice putting and chipping greens.
Hard, but Fair
Great course, very well managed. Very friendly staff. Greens were hard and fast, but very consistent. Great time.
Except for the bomb craters in the fairways, its a nice course
Played this course on 06/14/15 with a buddy of mine who I golf with just about every weekend. Several of the fairways, especially on the back nine, had depressions in the fairways that looked like either really small bomb craters or really large ball marks. Considering the above average amount of rain we have been getting the course was in pretty good shape, I just dunno what the deal is with the two foot diameter 6 inch deep pock marks all over the fairways on the back nine.
Beautiful !!!!
It is really enjoying playing there, everything is clean and lots of ponds
Pasture golf, what do you expect?
The course was green, but probably because we've had record rainfalls for the region. Greens were rough and slow. Only about half of the cart-paths were paved and the rest were gravel. It's about what you would expect for the cost and location of this track.
Willow Springs
Nice staff and decent snack bar cannot out weigh the terrible playing conditions. I'm just glad I was able to catch a hot deal as this was only my second time to have played. I will not be back!
Goat Track
A lot of the fairways looked like it had been part of several mortar strikes. I did see a few Blackhawk helicopters fly over so maybe they practice there as well. Typical old man Marshall with nothing better to do than bark orders at people doing nothing wrong. GPS system way off as well.
