Willow Springs Golf Course in Haslet, Texas is famous for having two sets of greens for each hole, used to maintain the best possible conditions depending on the season -- one for the winter, and one for the summer. This track plays just over 6,100 yards and offers a full 18 holes to the golfing public. The opening hole is the most difficult -- it's the only 400-yard-plus par 4 on the course. Nothing wrong with a bogey on this first hole, since it plays 446 yards. Willow Springs' back nine features two very birdie-able par 3s, as well as a 436-yard par 5 and a 280-yard par 4 that play back-to-back.

Good course just to get out
Played on Tuesday on a day after 2 consecutive day of rain, so it was cart path only. The cart path needs some work as there are potholes all over. Having 2 sets of greens, I was surprised to see some of the greens in not so great shape. I would rate them as average. I would not pay full price to play here. Anything under 20$ is a decent price,
Descent course for the price.
You can get into trouble on some holes, but for the most part, the course plays pretty open. Relatively short course that also gives lots of roll. Large pot holes in the fairways, makes it sometimes hard to find a descent fairway shot.
Nice course, great value
Played this course for $20 via golfnow on a Thursday afternoon by myself. Course itself is decent but not great. They have 2 sets of greens, winter and summer which made the play somewhat confusing on some holes. Overall the course and greens were in good shape. Just enough hazards to keep things interesting but not so many as to slow play or make things to difficult. The front 9 is nice and open making the par 4's and 5's driveable with good birdie chances. The back 9 is tighter making teeing off with the 3 wood or hybrid a must. Overall this course is a great deal for the money and I will be playing there more often.
Definitely will be back.
Really can't say anything bad about this place. Greens were in great shape and scary fast. Fairway was cut short and your ball will roll far. Cart girl was cute but more importantly she was rounding the course constantly so you don't have to wait long for beer. Kinda crowded but not bad.
VALUE
cant beat the price. greens arent great , but overall a great exlerience
Greens need attention
This place is not too bad. The fairways are in much better shape then last year. The cart paths are rocks and dirt and lots of potholes. The greens are as hard as dirt. This is were they need to put the attention. There are summer and winter greens. Maybe they should close down one of the greens and focus on maintaining only one set of greens. When I have to pay the full price i feel like I am cheating myself because of the cart paths and greens.
Interesting little course that has two sets of greens.
Nice layout for a short course that presents a challenge. Summer/Winter greens is interesting... I think I'll probably be back to see how the winter greens change the layout. Course is in nice shape but greens seem to be very firm.
Good value, fun layout but play can be slow.
For $20. is was a good deal. I've played this course many times. The course has a fun layout and defnitely has gotten nicer over the years. The greens are okay but not great- slow. The pace of play seemed slower than the actual number of hours played. Slow play is not uncommon here so I know this going in and am patient. The conditions were very windy so scoring well was very difficult. I like this course because it is close, reasonable and beats staying in.
Can't beat this deal
Willow Springs may not be your 5 Star golf course, but you can not beat the value. The winter green were too firm and bumpy, but the summer greens are in great shape, much more player friendly. Love the course as a beginner. I can play twice as much for the same price as most other courses in the area.
What a gem of a course!!
For this price, this is one amazing course!!! it was in excellent condition. It's as challenging as a muni, but has the upkeep of a private course. I will be back here often!!
Generally overbooked in good weather
For the $20 I paid on Golf Now, the course isn't bad. Their greens are still coming in and definitely under par. However, I have played this course a number of times and the greens are usually not this bad.
My main complaint is that they overbook in nice weather and pace of play is ridiculously slow. When I booked to play on Sunday, there were continually FOUR TO FIVE parties waiting on the first tee box. (I know because I withdrew my reservation and went to the driving range instead...
On Monday afternoon I played and as a single it still took 41/2 hours because the course was packed.
Great bang for your buck, novice friendly
Pretty much everything was good, considering the price, my only complaint was the greens were like ice. Still worth the money and good for beginners.
Not good.
Course was double booked. Online tee times weren't recognized until they got to the course so all tee times were duplicates. 30 minutes late getting off the first tee. It had rained the day before, the driving range was closed and the first 9 holes were mud from tee to hole. Even without the mud, the course was not in good shape. Cheap golf but still not worth playing.
Course in good shape. They are spending $$ upgrading the facility.
Great local course. The owners are putting serious $$ into improvements both on the course as well as the facilities.
I was disappointed
I chose this course because I read in reviews people wrote this course was in good shape for winter play.. I have played 5-6 courses since December and this course was ithe worst shape I have played yet. The greens were rock hard all the grounds were rock hard. The 10th hole is 360 yds we did have strong winds behind us but I drove my tee shot 10 yds before the green.. I cannot drive a ball 350 yds but it bounced all the way to the green. We had shots hit 20 yds before the green and would bounce and roll off the other side of greens It is a nice course for beginners and confidence builders for us hacker golfers and great for kids but the thing that drove me crazy the most we had 2 foursomes with kids in front of us and that is fine with me I started golf at a young age too. But you cannot let them walk the course this course is not really tough and should get played quickly but we ended up shooting almost 5 hrs and were backed up from the start till the end. It is a nice course and some really tricky greens which I liked but it took me 40 mins to drive out there from Grand Prairie and back and I did not feel it was worth going that far. If you live near this course go but for far drivers I would think twice.
Flat course easy to walk...
The course is a great value... Winter green are better than temporary greens, but have sparse coverage.... Playing the winter greens shorten the course, but works well in cold winter weather.... Relatively open course and moderate challenge, but fun to play for all but the top golfers who might find it not challenging enough.... Gets heavy play, but the pace is still excellent..... normal round is 4 hours or less.... Course is well maintained..... Staff are friendly and helpful....
Great condition for this time of year
Driving range closed due to rains the day before. Always a great experience playing this course.
Great Value, a fun time
My wife and I like to play here in the afternoons because we don't have to rush and the course is usually in decent to good shape, even with the crazy texas weather...
Great hackers course
This has always been a weekend warriors course. For the winter the course is in great shape compared to summer.
Great course, good greens
This is a family friendly course. It is well maintained and in great shape for wintertime.
