Owned by one of the most famous professional poker players ever, Amarillo Slim, this is the place to work in a quick practice round when you’re bordering on the shanks and needing to get back to basics. The course is lighted after dark in the spring and summer, making it a nice place to have a few beers and work in a practice round. Unlike most par 3 courses, this one has enough water to make you think.

Getting there : From Amarillo, head south on Highway 87, then take the Hollywood Road exit and turn right.

Great 3 par course to work on short game. For the panhandle and the price to come play, the course is great. If you want better tee boxes or fairways, go pay the almost $40 price tag they come with. The driving range is also good, plenty of room and the mats provided are a plus to use when working on drives. The full bar & grill inside has a great menu and doesn't disappoint.
Looking forward to this years upgrades on the driving range!

In keeping with what a par 3 course should be, it has small greens that are sneaky fast, and if you top one, don’t expect to get much roll between tee and green. The ground crew does a great job in keeping the course green, given that the Amarillo area isn’t known for its vast water resources or wet climate. The 19th hole was a very pleasant surprise, with a full bar, decent menu, and well-appointed interior.

Driving range is split 50-50 between mats, and turf, each having room for about 20 or so golfers. Range ball dispenser is nice and cuts down time waiting to get a bucket.

Course also is home to a hundred geese or so, and while they pretty much treat golfers with an air of disdain, I wouldn’t get too close to their goslings.

My only disappointment is that the course doesn’t have a capital punishment policy for people who don’t repair ball marks or sand the tee boxes.

Was high upset on my visit on April 24, 2017. Before making a trip to the course, I looked on the website. I was seeing where the green fees were $10 weekdays $12 weekends. Since it was monday, I was expecting $20 for 2 people. I get there and get a bottle of water, rent a bag cart, and get 2 people reasy to play and my total is $29.50. $7.50 for a bottle of water? No. The fees went from $10 to $13. The gentleman who was working got rude with me say that their prices went up. Ok, update the website, but I should get the $10 rate. He went and talked to his manager who never came out and I was told that the website hadn't been updated since the rate chance in 2013. 4 years?? Can't update the website? The gentleman then really got rude saying "it's not my fault the site isn't updated". Oh, but it's mine? I can understand if I just went in saying I wanted that price, but I had proof, on my phone, the rate quoted. Something needs to be done because I could have gone to a full size course for just a few dollars more than what I paid here. Tee boxes also need alot of work. Ground hadn't been watered lately. Broke several tees trying to get them into the ground.
