BolingElevation : 71 The Boling post office has taken over for the former company town of Newgulf, which is now virtually a ghost town since the Texas Gulf Sulphur Company closed its doors. Amazingly, this area about an hour's drive southwest of Houston is as close to a living ghost town as you'll find. 7,000 acres of the old town sit in lonesome silence and there is absolutely nothing going on in these parts anymore. Yet the Newgulf Golf Club still exists, offering the perfect Twilight Zone golf road trip opportunity when you're venturing toward the coast in search of the Gulf and golf. Boling Golf Courses :NotesCruise the ghost town of Newgulf, which now boasts about a tenth of its former self. For a quick bite in Boling try the cafe-like Mach's (555-555-5555) or the small Mexican restaurant called Amigo's (555-555-5555). Both serve beer, and are very inexpensive and good.
