Cape Royale Golf Course

The golf : Originally a 9-hole course that opened in 1972, Cape Royal now offers 18 holes of golf over its rugged terrain. Numerous hills provide challenging elevation changes and a few unique holes.
From the tips the course plays to a par 70 6,088 yards, but offers holes of surprising length, especially on the front. This side features three long-iron par 3s and two 400-yard-plus par 4s, including the number one handicap No. 6.
The back side features only one par 5, the 11th hole, which plays 495 yards. The signature hole is the last, a 345-yard doglegger that plays uphill and offers a blind tee shot and a pond just beyond the landing area at the top of the hill.

Getting there : From I-45 north, exit Willis/1097 and turn right. Drive about 10 miles to Hwy. 150, then turn right and drive another 17 miles to Hwy. 156. Next turn left and head over to FM 224, where you'll make a right and drive 4 miles to the course. The clubhouse is on the right.
