Alamo Golf Club
Not a bad layout but thought the greens were a little bare for as much rain as we have had. Would play it again as the value is there. Greens putted pretty good though. Overall I would recommend it. Not challenging enough for single digit handicaps.
Worst Golf Course Of All Time.
This is a very cheap course. However, it is a goat track. A par 67? Are you kidding me? Although it is probably the simplest and easiest golf course ever, It is also the worst golf course I have ever played. I have not played it in years, and I don't plan to ever play it again. Unless you are just beginning golf, NEVER play this course.
Not just a par 3
I was visiting from Colorado and most of the reviews I read were from last year and 2014 and they called it a par 3 course. Here we call it an executive 18 hole course which means it is under 70 par(par 67 I believe). The course was in great condition compared to what some of the reviews said. We did find a few bare spots here and there but you can tell that the new management is trying to improve its overall condition. The only disappointing part for us was the condition of many of the greens. I have never played in Texas before so maybe the greens are just not like the greens here. Great value and friendly staff too.
Good value
The course is better shape than it used to be. It was definitely worth the price I paid to play.
Rocky and hard, but good for practice
Hard to find balls even on the fairway since there are so many golf-ball sized rocks on the course. The back nine is much greener than the front nine and more fun to play with some excellent par three holes and a couple of longer dog-legged holes. When the ball winds up on a rock-hard, grassless lie, we simply move the ball to the nearest weed or grassy patch, so scores are practically meaningless on this course. The driving range is excellent and the practice putting green is very representative of the greens you will encounter on the course itself. I enjoy playing the course simply because the green fees are cheap and I need all the practice I can get!
Good for the pri$e
Challenging Par 3's. Great Jr. course. Drivers should not be allowed. It would make it more enjoyable.
Hot Deal
As a beginner golfer you can't beat 18 holes for 10$ including a cart!! Fairways were ok minus a couple of rough spots. Greens were good ball rolled nice. I'd go back if the deal was good!!
Goat Track
I took my daughter because she's just learning. It was conducive to her because she was able to hit closer to the whole. We enjoyed ourselves. The staff was nice and practice facility is great but the course itself leaves a lot to be desired. It's not well taken care of and bare in some spots. I wouldn't normally play here but great for my daughter and I to bond.
I like this place
Affordable and can get on the course at anytime . Good value
Friendly staff
The staff was generous enough to loan me a club suitable to my 6 year old. We had a great time and I finished 18 holes in 1 hr and 45 minutes; not bad for a crowded day with occasional light showers . The recent showers have improved the fairways and greens and it appears the owners are continuously updating the course. Look forward to going back.
course improving.
from what I understand this course is under new ownership and the improvements throughout the course are definitely noticeable. it's still a shorter course and it was in pretty bad condition before so obviously it's not in great condition...but the greens are being worked on, the tee boxes are dramatically better, and a few holes actually have fairway type grass now. In my opinion this course will be a great course for the price if these improvements continue.
Short but fun course
The course is relatively short at just over 5000 yards from the back tees but is fairly narrow making accuracy at a premium. I found the course to be fun to play and with now one in front or behind me able to play a fast pace. There are some course condition issues as the tee boxes need trimmed and marked better. The placards showing the hole are faded and aren't really that accurate making it tough if this is your first time playing. Additionally there are a few hole on the course where the grass has died and only dirt is left in the fairways. However, for $10 off of Golfnow you really can't go wrong.
Not bad considering the weather conditions.
Not a bad par 3 course and considering that we had a good 8 to 10 inches of rain in the last couple of days I was surprised that the course was still playable. So over all it was not bad given the weather conditions.
Course is looking better
The condition of the course is looking better than it has for a while, even with the drought conditions
great course for beginners
This course is not the best course but it is a great course for individuals who are just learning the game of golf. The price is right up my alley because I am a beginner.
I wouldnt go back if it was free
I've played many really bad courses but this one is the absolute worse I’ve ever seen. There was one green on the entire course that you could actually putt on. The rest were like putting over a cattle guard. Most of the fairways were dirt. The course layout is bad. I drove a round for several minutes trying to find tee boxes. I paid $20, I've seen it for as low as $10. To me that’s way too expensive. For those saying this is a great learners course, I would greatly disagree. Especially if you want to put an emphasis on golf etiquette and putting.
What a waste
I chose this course because I wanted to take my kids to a shorter course that would challenge all of us. This was the first time playing this course for any of us and from the first tee, I was confused as to where the fairway turned and where the green was. After consulting the map on the scorecard several times, I took a chance that the hole was one way, but it turned out to be a different way. The greens were very inconsistent in speeds along with having weeds growing on there too making them very bumpy. The back nine is laid out better than the front nine and more clear as to when the fairways turn on dog legs. The junior tees are way too short, (one par 3 had the tee box at 25 yards). I don't carry a GPS yardage finder with me so I depend a lot on the course to give me yardage and walk off the yardage to my ball but the problem I ran into at this course was the yardages they gave were either too short or too long and gave me issues with club selection.
Alamo golf club
I was really disappointed in the condition of the course. The greens were awful and bumpy. The fairways had very little grass. This course wasn't worth the money I paid and I got a discount to play it. Not to mention you have a dead baby deer on your course.
This course is set up nice
This course is a great course and there is no wait
