Despite its size and rapid rate of growth, Harker Heights is a relatively unknown Texas city, hidden in the shadows of other Fort Hood area cities such as Copperas Cove, Temple, Belton, and Killeen. While the town has no major industry, the town is closely integrated with Killeen and houses approximately 10% of the Fort Hood personnel living off base. Set in the rolling hills near Still House Hollow Lake and Lake Belton. Harker Heights offers scenic Central Texas views and ample recreation opportunities.
