Lee Maddox built this course on top of a hill in 1986, so you’ll have more alluring views at this facility than at most par 3 driving range joints. Among the challenges are waste bunkers that impact play and sporadic water hazards. No. 5 is the most dangerous–you’ll need a 7-iron to carry the water hazard to reach the tiny green.

Getting there : From I-35, get off at the McQueeny exit and head toward McQueeny. Drive 2 miles to the top of the hill, then turn on Klein Rd. and drive a short distance to the course.
