About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in Jan 2018.
Lost Creek Golf Club is located on the southwestern edge of Fort Worth and labels itself “the best golf value in Fort Worth.” The golf course, designed by Leon Howard in 1971, has changed ownership too many times to count and is now a public course. Howard’s design utilizes elevated tees and a tree-lined creek to add character to the course.
While there are two long par 4s, most holes play in the mid-300-yard range, making it a relatively short layout at only 6,388 yards. Holes of note are the 433-yard 13th, featuring a creek that crosses in front of the tee and pinches the fairway along the left side, and the difficult No. 18, where the creek cuts across the fairway twice, making it a long 526-yard hole.
The best tip for approach shots is to keep the ball below the hole, as most of the greens slope from back to front.

It was ok; good fornthe money
We played on a Saturday for $15 plus fees and taxes...hard to beat that. Course is not well taken care of but we got what we paid for, so all in all we are happy enough. Greens and fairways are not in good shape for the most part.
GOOD PLACE for a quick round
I drive about 20 miles to come and play at this course with a friend. I like the pace of play. This course has improved a lot since my last visit. The fairways and greens are in much better condition. The staff is very friendly. I really enjoy playing here.
Cow pasture?
Due to recent rainfalls...and now two days with no rain, at least put a mower out there in the fairways. I've seen cow pasture in better shape. Fair ways look like the second cut. Absolutely embarrassing. Didn't even played the back 9, that's how bad it is. Needs A LOT of improvements, especially mowers. 1/2 of front 9 greens were dead. It's surrounded by beautiful homes, I'd be ashamed to live in this community with a "golf course"
Course needs some work
The staff was great. The golfers were nice and accommodating. The course is in dire need of upgrades. The fairways were patchy with weeds dominating most of the course. The greens were dying and not just because of the onset of summer weather. I was severely disappointed in the condition of the course overall.
Lost Creek Aledo Texas
I have played here many times great course. But this time the course was in horrible shape. Fairways had hardly any grass and the greens were in terrible shape. Some grass no grass awful.
Don't waist your time!
Absolutely "zero" effort into making this course even remotely presentable. Greens are dead. Proshop guy tried making excuses like "we've yet to aerate". Ok, what are you waiting on? Several courses have already started and finished this process but it appears this courses green issues are far beyond aeration. The tee boxes and fairways are are also issues. They have not been mowed and no-one seems to care. We saw 1 maintenance employee on the grounds and he was weed eating and area that had nothing to do with nothing. The golf now price was $20 but it should have been $5, with $0.00 booking fees. I know it's not golf now's issue but Lost Creeks. I said last year that I would not be back to this course but due to no other options at the time, I went against that. The previous time I played, it was bad but not this bad. I just can't understand how a course can be in such pitiful shape and the course itself still charge regular fees for play. If you are taking in regular fees, then you should have your regular maintenance crew out tending to the course. I gave pace of play "5" stars because not many were on the course. Fellow golfers, please do not waste your time and money on this course. I ga
Poor condition overall
Front nine was ridiculous. Green were in horrible condition. It has potential but needs better fairways.
Decent course for the price
Driving in, it almost looked closed. The pro-shop and parking lot looked beat down from the outside, but inside was kept up with. Not many golfers for a Sunday morning, only staff on the course was the pro-shop attendant and one cart guy.
Decent cruse nonetheless. Greens were sub par, more dirt patches than green. Playable though. Tee-boxes looked like average tee-boxes, fairways were good. Plenty of traps all around, but easily avoidable.
Worst course I have played in DFW
Walking into the Pro Shop was the best experience of the day. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and outgoing letting me know to take a course guide and that they were complimentary. Unfortunately he never mentioned how bad the condition of the tee boxes, fairways and especially the greens (sporadic mix of some grass and packed terra firma). Packed sanded greens have truer rolls.
I knew I wasn't playing at a country club, and that it was an older course, but the pictures of the course on Golf Now are not anywhere close to how the course looks presently.
Waste of money spent.
Unkept course
About 4 of the greens make your ball look like it was on a motocross track. Many of the fairways had completely bare spots with no grass at all and open dirt.
With that said, I did get to "play golf" for $12 and with taxes and fees, the final total was $17. If you're on a super budget and want to "play golf", this is your course. If you want real golf, real greens, real fairways, stay away.
Okay layout, awful shape
I have played this course twice now and both times the front 9 feels like they haven't watered it or done anything to take care of it in months. The fairways were mud/ dirt, the greens were sand. Honestly don't know how this course gets away with such awful conditions. Only saving grace was my group was one of three on the course so we didn't have to wait at all and could leave this dumb ASAP
Front 9 is a challenge
Short but fun. Quite a few blind tee shots. Had a goog time. Ugly Pug beer on tap in the bar. Fantastic
Lack of maintenance
Staff at clubhouse was great. Although they could have asked me if this was my first time to play at Lost Creek. It was!!! Knowing where to park my cart on the 1st teebox would have made my start
ALOT more enjoyable. For those who have never been you literally park in the street and walk over to the Teebox because the bridge is broken and has not been fixed. Something I could have been told at the clubhouse.
I know this is winter time but when you have overgrown Fairways that haven't been cut in weeks and grass clippings all over the greens inhibiting your pudding that's just a lack of maintenance and or caring. Still had fun!!!
We appreciate you being positive! We are working to get the course in great shape this spring!
Terrible playing conditions.
I'm not sure what happened to lost creek but it has gone way downhill. I used to love this course. And it was in great condition now it looks like there is NO superintendent or greenskeeper. Has it lost funds? Idk but I won't be back for awhile.
We are doing everything we can to get the course in great shape this spring! We hope to see you back soon!
Terrible Greens
This course has issues with maintenance. The fairways are poor and greens some of the worst I've seen.
We apologize that you felt the course was in poor condition. We are doing everything we can to get the course in great shape!
After rain
This corse drains fast after a rain . Which I found great.
Glad to hear it!
Lost Creek
It was a beautiful sunny day. Round lasted 3hrs 24mins. The gentleman in the pro shop was nice and knowledgeable. There was not a cart girl. The cart we had was in good shape, no gps, but the do have yardage books available.
Tee Boxes - Some were good, and others were covered in sand.
Fairways- They were in good shape for this time of year.
Bunkers- Good placement. They were hard and need fresh sand but were nicely raked.
Hazards- Great placement of the water hazards, and enough trees to make sure you shots need to be straight.
Greens- Awful, holes 1-5 were unplayable, and a couple quite a bit of sand on them.
We had a nice leisurely round never felt rushed and still finished in great time. The course has it moments were it really makes you think and great club selection is a must. If they fix the greens it will easily be 4stars. I only recommend this course if you want a round were you can play at our own pace. The price was on the lower side for the tee time we had, which is a major plus.
TxChive ,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We genuinely appreciate all the feedback and are happy that you had a good time. We are working on those greens!
Bad shape
They score should be closed it is in bad shape Dirtee boxes no Grass and fairways got a good price but still not worth the money I won't be playing this course anymore needs a lot of work to become viable
We are sorry that you felt the conditions were poor. We are working hard to get our course in as good as shape as possible. We hope you come back soon and give us another try.
Thank you for the positive review! Cheers!
