The Wildflower Resort

The golf : Located on a 1,000-acre lakefront peninsula of Joe Pool Lake, The Wildflower Resort is slated to be a $200 million, 500-room Texas ranch-style luxury resort and conference center built around two Jack Nicklaus-designed courses. This one should be a good one. Troon Golf will manage the courses, which will feature Sergio Garcia’s first foray into golf design–he’ll use the support of Nicklaus’ company to assist with his 18. Construction began in late 2002, with the opening scheduled for 2004.
