Ralph Plummer worked with Arnold Palmer on the original design back around 1970, and Ken Dye and Baxter Spann came along for an upgrade in 1988. This challenging course overlooking Lake Texoma is difficult because of the water and wind.
Be ready when you arrive, because the first two holes can ruin your day. Some say that No. 1 is the hardest on the course, playing 414 yards into a dogleg that’s protected by a fairway bunker. No. 2 is longer at 444 yards–you’ll need a monster tee shot to set up a reasonable approach into the bunkered green. This hole has a slight dogleg to the left as well.
On the back, No. 14 goes 230 yards with water on the right, and No. 18 is a reachable par 5 with water in play on the first two shots.
Other notes. You either need to be a member or a guest of the resort to play.
Getting there : From the Grayson Company Airport, head north on Hwy. 1417. Turn west on Hwy. 120 and drive into Pottsboro. In town look for the signs to the course.
