The LCC has been criticized over the years for its frequent flooding and poor condition; however, the club is back on track due to a slow process of improvement that is making this flat, wide-open course more enjoyable to play. An easy course that plays to an almost executive-like 5,800 yards, the only hazards to get in your way are the occasional water hazard and perhaps the poor conditions.

The average golfer will welcome the short par 4s and 5s, as well as the six par 3s. The toughest hole is the 396-yard, par 4 No. 7, difficult only because of its length.

Other notes: Senior discounts are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Getting there : From I-20 east, take Hwy. 42 north, then drive 5.5 miles to the course. The entrance is on the right.

Condition of the course was about as bad as it gets. I played as a single with my wife as a rider. I was not told I be following a 5 some. One of the group came back to tell me that there are 4 groups that play at that time every Sunday and none will let me play through.

    I won’t be back

This course is a great golf course. It is wide open and flat and is a pretty easy course for all the blue collar weekend golfers like me who can only occasionally go golfing. It is a good course to challenge you while being easy enough that you can still rescue a slice a fairway over and even par the hole. You will not be able to golf here without at least 4-5 people telling you "Thank you for your business", and "We appreciate you being here" etc. etc. The staff and even the members are genuinely glad you were there and are very friendly. It is a blast to golf here and when all other courses are closed for rain and wet conditions, LCC will be open. The ground is hard and flat and is able to be traversed in a cart within a short time after a rain. Those who give this golf course a low rating do not understand what the purpose of this course is. This course is my favorite course on all of East Texas. It is in an area near the Sabine river and the soil is not going to ever be what other courses are. With that said it is still a very fun course and it sees a LOT of business because of the reasonable price and super friendly atmosphere. If you are a PGA professional then there are other courses for you, but this one is for us regular guys who just love golfing at a reasonable price and receiving a hearty thanks from the staff.

I am a scratch golfer, I play all over East Texas . Don't play here, course is worst I have ever played. I quit after 9 holes turned in a 39. This course made me question my game. After 25+ yrs of playing

This is a goat patch. Should be ashamed to call itself a country club or a golf course. Fairways and cart paths if you want to call them that are the worst I have seen. Course superintendent if they have one should be embarrassed for the condition of the course.
