Originally built in the early 1960s by local volunteers, this private club recently upgraded by reworking its layout and adding an additional nine holes. The new 18 now plays to an extremely short 5,542 yards, but is lined with oak trees and has three water hazards on each nine.
The hole most complain about is No. 5, which requires a full carry over water to reach the green. Despite the complaints, this hole has seen three holes-in-one since the new course opened in 2002.
Located near Lake Amon Carter, this is a scenic, easy-to-medium course with narrow fairways and fast greens.
Getting there : From Hwy 287 north, take the FM 1125 exit and go left. Turn right at the Dean Stewart Cutting Horses sign and follow the road to the golf course gate.
