Despite the short length, the Eagle Lake Golf Course can play difficult because of the small greens. Bring your short game and get ready to put your short game to use, because your approaches must be honed in to have the chance to land on these tiny greens.
Two sets of tees make for an 18-hole round, and the look is surprisingly different on the back nine. There is only one par 5 on this course. The most difficult hole is No. 7 on the second go-round, which plays 215 yards with a creek that runs the length of the hole.
Getting there : From Houston, take I-90 west for 65 miles to the town of Eagle Lake. Drive through the center of town and you'll see the course.
