Windrose is a fun golf course that rolls through the wetlands, lined by oaks and pines and spotted by lakes that come into play on about half of the holes. On this relatively easy course, most of the greens are open and do not require forced carries. The large greens make for welcome targets, and they roll fast and true.

The best hole is the lone 458-yard par 4 No. 13, which is dominated by impressive old oak trees and plays into a well-bunkered green that is bordered from behind by a lake.

Getting there : Take I-45 north from Houston to FM 2920, then turn left and drive to Kuykendahl. Turn left and find Windrose .5 mile down on the right side.

I thought the course was very poor marked regarding to yardages.... several holes had to guess how far I was to the hole. most good course at least have a blue (200), white (150) and red (100) marker... had to waste a lot of time looking for sprinkler heads markers.

secondly, inconsistent rough around the greens, some were good and others were extremely thick....

speed of the green were average.

was a member of this course while on a work transfer 2001/2003. loved it. the best greens of any course in the houston area, and i played most of them in the 3 years over there. i found the staff in the clubhouse very pleasant and the staff on the course very courteous. would love to get back some day, just loved it and the snakes and bugs, dont get much of that in scotland
