The Salado Course, named after the creek that runs through the layout, is considered the more scenic, featuring more water hazards and an unusual amount of blind shots. Construction was completed on the full 18 holes back in 1965. The layout features a front nine dominated by seven par 4s and a back nine with three par 3s and three par 5s. Salado plays 6,725 yards from the tips, and while most of the par 4s are under 400 yards, the par 3s are in the 200-yard range. The best hole is the 611-yard No. 5.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take the Rittiman Road exit to Harry Wurzbach. Turn left, and the course is on the left.
