Midland's newest course, the centerpiece of a residential community named Grassland Estates, opened for play in October 1999. The course is open, void of trees, and designed with the prevailing West Texas winds in mind, which give the layout a definite Scottish-links-style feel.

While the course is not overly difficult, playing just over 6,200 yards from the middle tees, low handicappers will be challenged from the tips, especially if they catch the course on a gusty day. There is nothing to protect the course from the wind, and the 6,900 back tees can play more like 7,500 in howling conditions.

Getting there : Take Business Hwy. 20 East to Loop 250. Go north on Loop 250 to Wadley Ave. Take a left on Wadley and follow until it dead-ends into the golf course.

Sadly this course has closed forever as of summer 2023 and will be built on, either with housing or a zoo has been proposed. What the heck....
