Forest Creek Golf Club

The golf : Designed by Dick Phelps, this highly touted track was named “Best Public Golf Course in Central Texas” by Golf Digest as well as “Golf Club of the Year” by Club Corporation of America. Phelps’ design features plush, narrow fairways, and its namesake Forest Creek that comes into play on 11 holes. Many of the holes dogleg, and its most difficult holes are the long par 4s.
These holes are especially evident on the back nine, with holes 10, 15, and 18 all playing well over 400 yards. The 15th is the most difficult, playing a bogey-welcoming, par 5-like 472 yards.
Other notes: Former Head Pro J.L. Lewis honed his game here before finding success on the PGA Tour. His course record of 65 was set when the course first opened in 1991. Several small pro events have been held at Forest Creek. ParView GPS is utilized on all carts.
