Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Yesterday was the first time I've played TeraVista. Overall, the course is in nice shape and is fun to play.

The tee boxes were just ok, not bad but not great. The fairways were in good shape even in February.

The greens look very nice and seem like they could be very very good. They were very fast. However, they had little bumps everywhere like they were recovering from being plugged. So putting was an exercise in frustration.

I would imagine in March and later this course will be in quite good shape once the greens come around from the winter.

Made t times 2 days in advance. Called course with a question but was not informed they were punching the greens the day of our scheduled play. Total confusion for golfers as to what side was open for play (they were alternating 9's due to sanding the greens). Front desk was not friendly at all. Much better courses to choose from in Austin area.

Solid, championship style play north of Austin with good hole variety and shot values. Some real tough holes when the wind is up, especially on the back nine. Swing for the fences.
