Hidden Gem on houston's east side
Played only 9 holes but I could still tell this was a great course. It's just off the water in Baytown and is really fun to play. The staff and clubhouse are nice and the driving range is huge! Course is laid out fairly so a good score is possible but bad shots will make it tough. definitely recommend it and hope to get back out soon!
It's Looking better..
played Fri the 25th. Something's going on out there, it actually was very playable and the skitters were so - so.. Greens are coming back and ball is rolling well, a few bumps though. Sand.. Sand in the bunkers, good sand. only a few were unplayable.. Wow.. Workers everywhere, the course looks better. keep it up !!!!
A good test with plenty of challenges
This is a good layout with plenty of traps and water hazards. There are several good par fours, with #18 being one of them. Maybe it's just the time of year, but the mosquitoes were really bad !!
the course is very challenging
the course was great , the fairways in great shape, the ruff was challenging, the greens were fast .
just an outstanding course!!1
GREAT LAYOUT GREAT GOLF COURSE FOR THE MONEY
GREAT GOLF COURSE FOR THE MONEY, GREAT CHALLENGE FROM THE TIPS GREENS PUT TRUE AND FAIRWAYS EXCELLENT CONDITION STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY
Play in the winter!
This course is very playable for the average golfer. Good greens and pace of play. The only thing I warn you about is the mosquitos by the bay! OMG we used OFF twice and still got ate up. Play with long sleeves and pants and during the winter when the mosquitos are not as active....
I would play again. They had mosiquito spray in the clubhouse you could use for free, Thank you. Definitely needed it.
The course it well maintained, but they quit keeping their features maintained.
1) They used to have a beautiful stream cutting across the fairway on the first par 5, now just a dried up ditch.
2) The grand waterfall 18 green was another reason for pause, also dried up. (sad)
3) They weedeat everything around the ponds and lakes making them look dead and less natural. Just way too much weedeating going on out there.
Like I said, these are just features and has no bearing on the playability of the course, but they were wonderful to see.
Amazing course in the Texas "Big Thicket"
this course is very close to my home so we play it a lot and I personally think it is one of the finest courses in the Houston Area. The layout is very challenging and the course is always in super shape even during last years drought conditions.
Interesting course well maintained
fairways and greens in good shape. Good value for money - very quiet on the day we played.
Great value for your money
TPC "Dirty Bay" has matured into a really nice golf course. Keep the ball "in play" and it presents a good solid challenge for par. Get the ball out of the fairway and... suffer the consequences. This is what a course should present. The greens are starting to "sploch" with Crab Grass again, but they're addressing it and they are nice, firm and very puttable. The sand traps are their Achilles Heel and need reworking. Again, they are starting to address the bunkers and should have them back in good shape soon. Of course, while your not supposed to in the sand, good traps make for good sand play. Great trac/good price.
This course is a nice layout.
This course was in pretty bad shape several months ago and was reluctant to play it but heard through some friends that it was coming back around. They were right. It's in the best shape I have seen it in a long time. Fairways were lush and greens looked pretty good.
Great course; Mosquitos are aggressive
Absolutely great course, in very good shape especially for this time of year in Texas. It is and always has been one of my favorite tracks in and around the city of Houston especially for the money. The only concern which was most evident yesterday(8/20) where the large number of mosquitos, who made their presence felt.
Fun course. Not easy but not too hard.
I played here in June and the course was in terrible shape. Greens were already burnt and crispy and it wasn't even that hot yet. Fairways and bunkers weren't much better. After playing here yesterday I have to compliment the staff. The greens are in good shape, slow but look and roll good. Fairways are better as well. Bunkers are still terrible. Hard and rocks all in them. On the 5th hole some ***hole had driven the cart in the green side bunker and did donuts. Looked like it had been that way a day or two. Overall I think they are getting it back to a good course!
avoid the sand and the course is great
Fairways and greens were great, the traps hadn't been worked in a long time, they were like hitting off concrete and at least one on #16 was completely washed out
Well maintained greens and fairway
I hadn't played this course in about 4 years. I stayed away from it because others told me the course was in poor condition and had never recovered from Ike or the drought. Last week I had read reviews that said the greens and fairway had recovered, so I wanted to see for myself. I'm happy to report that everything mentioned was true. The grass was green and in great shape. The greens were fast, once the morning dew dried, but the balls rolled straight. I will go back, especially once it cools down a bit. Now that the course is coming back into shape, it would be good to see the rest of the course updated a bit. Sand traps need a bit of work, course aesthetics could be improved once the drought ends.
Evergreen Point is a great lay-out. It makes you play several different types of shots.
Evergreen Point is one of my fav's. Challenging and extremely awesome value. The greens have been a question mark, but they are in good shape. I recommend this coarse.
She's coming back
so glad to see this course coming back to life i thought she was a goner there for a while but now fairways a green and the greens are green and not deathly slow lol hope they keep it up!!!!!
Big change!!
So glad to see someone has got a hold on this track! Always loved the layout but it had got really bad. I commend who ever got it turned around. Back on my list of regular play.
Evergreen is coming back around!
A few months ago the course seemed to be dying a slow death. The greens were deplorable and it looked like they completely stopped putting water on the fairways. I had quit playing there.
I heard a rumor that they recently hired a new greens keeper and I saw for myself that they had dropped the price slightly. So I booked a round to see for myself. I was pleasantly surprised! The greens were much improved! Still slow, but the weeds are gone and there is grass on the entire putting surface now. The whole course looks much better. Probably helped by the recent rains, but still, a much improved Evergreen!
Excellent Course
I have always loved Evergreen's course design and now the course is in excellent shape.
