An outstanding layout
May be the early spring, but the course looks to be slightly neglected
Greens are very fast
Greens appear to be compacted clay instead of groomed grass. Stay under the hole to avoid lengthy 2-3 putts
Greens are in bad shape.
The greens are in bad shape but I can see with water it won't be long they will be better.
The staff at the course is very nice and they have good food.
Nice course over all.
New Superintendent
There is a new superintendent here now from Florida.....let's see how he does. Hopefully he won't make the common mistake of scalping the fairways ! Greens are in good condition for spring but for some reason the fairway grass has not yet come up from dormant. Rough looking very good in places and bunkers look to be getting the attention they need. Great value if you get the HotDeal special. The Gator in the club house pond is getting Bigger ! :-)
course was in good shape greens are coming back
overall the course is starting to come back greens are getting better which i am glad to see only thing that could use some improvements are the bunkers they are better then they have been but a few were a little thin on sand got down to the clay on one shot
Greens are poorly maintained
The course has geat poential and I used to visit it quite often. The greens are in pretty poor condition, need serious attention. I would only play here with a deep discount as with GolfNow. Otherwise head to Eagle Point or Bay Forest, they are in better condition.
Greens need to be cared for
Good course although the greens are a bit brown. A bit too far for me to play at for a discounted price of $42.00
Fun course, good pace of play, good value
Played Saturday morning and the course was well maintained, greens were reasonably fast and rolled true. Course has enough elevation change to make it different than most of the courses in the Houston area. Worth putting in your rotation of courses to play
Average Course
This course use to boast great greens and fairways. However, the fairways and greens really need a lot of attention right now. I don't know if they weren't prepared for winter or what. The fairways don't hardly have any grass left and the greens are brown. If they could get it back to the condition it was in 3 years ago it would be awesome.
Greens requires atention
Fairways are very good, but they need to work in the Greens, there are some of them in bad condition.
Bring your bug spray
I've given this course so many second chances that I doubt I'll ever go back. It used to be one of my favorite courses but it seems they have never fully recovered from the drought.
The green were bumpy and never seemed to hold a line. The fairways were hard so you got plenty of roll out on your drives.
Bitten to death
We attempted to play but the mosquitos were so bad we couldn't finish the round. Even with deep woods off the mosquito population was so thick it made it impossible to focus on play. Not sure if staff did anything to surpress the population or not, eitherway they didn't do enough. Spoke with several friends who played that same day at other locations and NONE had issues with mosquitos.
Course
Great course great price blows moody gardens out of the water
Fun course
Nice course well laid out. Not very challenging but enough of water, sand and elevation changes to make it interesting. Bunkers could have drained better. Hadn't rained for a couple of days but sand was wet. Greens were rolling well.
Great Layout
Was a Great time with my pal, the course was in much better shape than I expected. Still a issue with the bunkers, need sand and raking. Sketters not visible, as most know that can be the real down fall of this course. I give her a B+, greens rolled true. Also they have lowered the price some so a Great price at twlight.
wd
great for the money
Played in 3 hours but we played right after it had finished raining and on a holiday so the course wasn't crowded. The course recovered well from the rain just a bit of rain in the traps. The fairways were all in good shape, the greens were fast in spite of the rain. Rough was really short. I will play again soon.
excellent practice facilities
very well laid out, moderately challenging. probably the best practice facilities in the Houston area for a public course. maintained well considering the drought.
nice layout, land has real character
greens were in good shape and rolling nicely. course was more than I expected.
I play alot of courses in the area and havent been here for 20 years. I didnt remember how nice it was.
Great course with plenty of challenges.
This course is unlike the topography in the area, which is flat. It features alot of undulating fairways...uphill approaches to sloping greens. Enough water to keep your concentration & plenty of greenside bunkers to snare errant approach shots. A difficult course for mid-high handicappers, so choose correct tees wisely. It was in great shape as well.
great course
Enjoyed the course very much. The practice facilities were good, and the staff were very courteous
